Two BALDR productions selected for Sundance
Two BALDR productions are set to celebrate their world premiere at Sundance. The feature In the Land of Brothers is selected for the World Cinema Dramatic Competition and the documentary Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat is selected for the World Cinema Documentary Competition.
Iranian/French/Dutch co-production In the Land of Brothers by Iranian directors Raha Amirfazli and Alireza Ghasemi tells the story of three members of an extended Afghan family start their lives over in Iran as refugees, unaware they face a decades-long struggle ahead to be “at home”. The film is produced by Furyo Films (FR), Limited Circle (IR) and BALDR Film (NL).

Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat is a co-production between Belgium, France and the Netherlands in which Belgian filmmaker Johan Grimonprez explores the post-colonial struggle for Congo’s resources, told from the unique perspective of Andrée Blouin, a neglected pioneer of female emancipation and independence throughout Africa. The film is produced by Onomatopee Films (BE) and Warboys Films (FR) in coproduction with BALDR Film.
