THE NIGHTS STILL SMELL OF GUNPOWDER selected for Berlinale Forum

Happy to announce that The nights still smell of gunpowder by Inadelso Cossa will have its World Premiere at the Berlinale Forum.

Concerned with the fragmented memories of his childhood during the civil war in Mozambique, filmmaker Inadelso returns to his grandmother’s village to reveal the untold stories. His grand-mother has Alzheimer’s, and her memories are fading. In the same village lives a former rebel. Perpetrator and victim, day and night, truth and fiction merge.
As his generation is facing new tensions, the ghosts of the war are tireless and wait in the darkness.

The film was produced by 16mmFilmes (MZ), Ida.Ida (FR) and Kaske Film (DE), in co-production with BALDR Film (NL), DuplaCena (PT), Stær Productions & Filmreaktor AS (NO), in association with ARTE, La Lucarne and RTP1.
Supported by IDFA Bertha Fund, NL Film Fund, ICA, World Cinema Fund, Filmfond Nord, Sørfond, Atlas Workshops, CNAP, Blue Ice Group.
The film sales are handled by Syndicado.
