THE GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS premieres at Movies That Matter Film Festival 2025

The Garden of Earthly Delights, Morgan Knibbe’s new feature film, will have its official premiere during the Movies That Matter Film Festival 2025 in The Hague. The film features in both Grand Jury Fiction Competition and Dutch Focus Competition.

The Dutch Focus competition (formerly Dutch Movies Matter) of the Movies that Matter Festival focuses on Dutch film: impressive home-grown films, each with a global, universal narrative. On Monday 24 March, the Dutch Focus Night will feature the screening of The Garden of Earthly Delights, the feature film debut of director Morgan Knibbe, on which he worked for seven years, with a special introduction by trans activist Dinah Bons. During this evening, part of the Philippine cast and crew will be present for a conversation with moderator Bahram Sadeghi.

The Garden of Earthly Delights tells the story of 11-year-old Ginto, who fights for survival, dignity and freedom in the slums of Manila. A compelling world premiere by Morgan Knibbe about deep-rooted systemic issues, (post)colonial damage, white privilege and inequality.
